Kisco Senior Living receives 2005 ICAA Industry Innovators Award

Carlsbad, CA - Healthy Strides, created by Kisco Senior Living, has garnered recognition as one of the most innovative active aging programs for 2005. The International Council on Active Aging (ICAA), the world's largest trade association for the senior fitness and wellness industry, recently chose Healthy Strides, a whole person wellness program, to receive a 2005 ICAA Industry Innovators Award. These awards honor excellence and creativity in the health and wellness field. They also recognize organizations that have created cutting-edge programs to support active aging among adults ages 50 and older. In addition, the 2005 awards competition included the first Innovators Award for fitness equipment.

On behalf of Kisco Senior Living, Kirsten L Tierney, PT, MBA, Director of Healthy Strides, will accept the ICAA Industry Innovators Award at Active Aging 2005: The tipping point, the ICAA's conference in Orlando, Florida, from December 1-3.

"The 2005 ICAA Industry Innovators offer fresh, high-quality approaches that promote health, independence and quality of life for older adults in our society," says Colin Milner, the ICAA's chief executive officer. "We are pleased to recognize these accomplishments in the field of active aging." Milner also praises the ICAA Industry Innovators for their leadership in the active aging field.

"Healthy Strides is an inspiring example of what is possible when it comes to initiatives to support the health and well-being of older adults in our society," says Milner. "The ICAA congratulates Kisco Senior Living on the excellence and creativity demonstrated in its award-winning program." In the coming year, an in-depth article on Healthy Strides will appear in the ICAA's bimonthly Journal on Active Aging, to offer those in the active aging field an opportunity to learn more about this initiative.

Healthy Strides at Kisco Senior Living
